It was verging on 11:00pm and Dougie was still being chased by the little sausage dogs. He was starting to get tried after running for 10 minutes straight but he carried on running knowing that it would all hopefully be worth it. Dougie carried on running and running and running and…well you get the idea. It only came to him after another 10 minutes that Dougie was running from 3 little dogs that were about a sixth of the size of him. He stopped running and turned on the dogs as they stopped. One by one each of the dogs went yelping through the night as Dougie growled at them. Tom found this highly amusing until Dougie growled at him. This only made him start screaming and running around with his hands in the air. After all the noise that had been going on that night, Dougie felt fairly surprised that Harry hadn’t come out of his house to check what was happening.
Dougie took the opportunity, while Tom was running around screaming, to look for a possible way into the house. As he looked for his options, he saw that the sky window on the attic was open. Dougie decided that although it was highly stupid, it was easier than breaking the front door down. Obviously, Tom had stopped running and screaming at this point, but still failed to tell Dougie that the front door was deliberately open. Dougie picked up his bag that Tom packed him, and searched for the rope ladder. After a few minutes, he found it and threw it onto the attic and into the window. After he was sure that it wasn’t going to fall on him, Dougie started to climb.
Tom decided that he’d had enough, so he started walking home leaving Dougie alone. Of course, Dougie being Dougie didn’t even realise Tom had gone until…he never really did. As he approached the top of the ladder, he decided that he’d jump the rest. This was an extremely bad choice as he fell straight into the window and hit every object imaginable. This existed of anything that you would keep in your attic, this stuff being very creative though. As he hit each box and item, he gave a yelp that got progressively louder. He was sure that Harry would have heard him by now, as he was still flying around in the attic. It eventually occurred to Dougie, as he hit the ground, that maybe Harry was death. However, Dougie knew full well that he wasn’t, so why was Harry ignoring the noises that had been around his house all night? Dougie didn’t know and he really didn’t care.
As he made his way out of the attic, very carefully I might add, Dougie could here the TV on downstairs and movement. Harry was definitely home maybe he just didn’t care if someone was in his house. Dougie thought long and hard about the reasons but didn’t come up with the one that Tom knew.
Harry was downstairs and watching TV. He’d seen Dougie running away from the dogs. He thought it was cute, but strange because he didn’t even have one dog, never mind three. Harry also thought it was cute that Dougie had to bring Tom along on his little adventure. One thing that Harry really liked about Dougie though, was the noise he made when in pain. He liked that low, almost, sexy growl that Dougie made as he hit all of the objects upstairs.
Harry had taken to watching ‘X-Factor’ and was now pretending to be each of the wanabe’s on TV. Harry thought it was funny how none of them could sing, so he was watching and singing along. Of course, Harry was only really watching the show to pass the time until Dougie got to him. Which, by the by, looked to be a long time. Harry has also taken it upon himself to set up a little area for the big night. Oh yes, there would be some fun tonight. Harry had managed to turn his sofa into a bed, it pulled out, and set some blankets and other ‘supplies’ around the room that they may need.
Dougie, of course, was still in the attic and slowly making his way to the door that hopefully led down to the room where Harry was. Dougie could feel the adrenalin surging around his body as he opened the door, expecting Harry to be stood there. When it was proven that Harry was not stood there, Dougie proceeded to walk around the house to find the living room, where he supposed Harry would be. As he slowly continued around the house, he could hear the sounds of the TV getting closer and closer. Dougie almost fainted when he got to the top of the stairs for even getting that far. Almost…
Harry had heard a fair few creaks coming from upstairs, and he assumed it to be Dougie. ‘Won’t be long now’, he thought to himself as he saw a figure approaching the stairwell. For you see, Harry’s landing had a porch type thing, that overlooked the lobby area into the living room, so when Dougie was trying to be inconspicuous Harry could in fact see everything that he was doing.
Dougie got to the top of the stairs and stopped. ‘What happens if he isn’t interested? What happens if he tries to shoot me?’ All these silly questions were running through Dougie’s head. So Dougie took the biggest breath imaginable and started to walk down the stairs. Only one step every now and again. He was hoping that he wasn’t going to get seen, but it was too late for that. As Dougie made it to the bottom of the stairs, he had a quick glance round and moved to the door that, he thought, led to the living room. In fact, it led to the kitchen so he turned around and without even looking, went into the room that had the noise coming from it.
At first he couldn’t see anything at all. Sure, the TV was on in the corner, but Harry had taken it upon himself to turn all the lights off and hide on a swizzly chair. As Dougie walked further into the room, a light flickered on and the chair turned around with Harry in it.
“Well, well, well. I’ve been expecting you Dougie…”
